The history behind Jojie's is personal: it started with one cook, a family kitchen and people asking her to prepare food for their celebrations.
Jojie's story began in the Mendoza family kitchen in Malate, where Jojie Mendoza was already cooking for family and friends in the early 1980s before formally opening the catering business in 1986.
The original company story describes a modest beginning shaped by Jojie's cooking, encouragement from family and friends, and a growing number of people asking her to prepare food for their gatherings. What mattered was not building a large corporate story on day one. It was serving people well enough that they came back and told others.
The early mission was equally practical: help make each event successful, give clients good value, and avoid treating quality as something that should be sacrificed simply to lower the price. That principle still fits the way Jojie's works across different event formats today.
